🍂 Hi guys, I hope you’re having a beautiful day, today I bring you my Wrap Up of the month of April, where I’ll tell you all about my reading of the month. I think I’ve had quite average months in terms of the number of book reads, and this month isn’t the expectation, I feel it’s a good month, but at the same time, I feel I could have done better, you know? So next month, I mean now, lol, I’ll try to push myself a little more because I know I can read even more. Was a moment also in the middle of the month when I felt a little slumpy so that may have affected me a little, but the truth is that I’m fine with what I read, but I’m not completely impressed.
On the other hand, talking about blogging, I think this has been a FANTASTIC month for the blog, we have reached 3000 followers, which I still can’t believe, we are 3020 right now, so thanks to those beautiful 20 more people! I only feel pure love from all of you and it makes me happy that you’re enjoying my content and come back to see every post, it means the world to me. All this and also the gratitude post I’ve published, has filled me with nostalgia and has made me remember a little my beginnings and relive all this unique journey and that’s a wonderful thing for me. Sometimes stopping a little and looking back, everything we have done to get where we are makes us appreciate the little things, so I recommend you to do that at times when you’re stressed or lose your inspiration. Right now I feel that some way I’ve started again, I feel fresh and ready to continue! 💕

In other news, I made my own Book Tag (The Perfect Bookthis month, I mean, maybe this sounds SO silly, but I was scared to death because I thought no one would like it, but everyone supported me a lot and I know you enjoyed it, so that makes me very happy!, maybe I’ll try more in the future!! I have a lot of fun doing it, but even more, seeing your answers 😍

Returning to the books that I’ve read, I have a very varied mix of genres and enjoy almost everything I read, with the exception of a book that I’ve given only 1 star and that didn’t happen since a while but well, I’ll tell you more about it. I decided this month to focus a little on some of my ARCs, which I’m very grateful for, so then participate in the ARCAttack Month, and finish reading 3 of the 4 ARCs that I planned to read, so I think it was successful! 👏🏻
Well, let’s start because then I talk a lot and this is getting longer and longer lol. 🍂

☄️ ARCAttack Month Reads 🌊

39863306

This book is a mixture between fantasy and historical fiction, take place during the time of the Crusades, and follows 3 people, the Christian princess, her affianced prince, and a Muslim assassin, who will embark on a peculiar mission in search of the most fearsome warrior the world has ever known.
Even when it’s a fantasy I think you could enjoy it more if you’re someone who enjoys historical fiction, since, seen from that side I think it’s VERY well created, It’s obvious that the author has been informed a lot to write the book, which It’s always appreciated. We know more about races and cultures and that has been great.
On the other hand, as fantasy, hasn’t done much for me, to be honest.
In this ARC the POV changes are very messy and that has made my enjoyment difficult when reading, since I didn’t know when the POV changed from one character to another, that can be confusing, even so, I don’t know if this will be like this in the finished copy, but it’s something to be taken in mind before reading it.
The main feminine character is great, very strong and independent for the time, which I adore. And the pace is very good, so even though it doesn’t have anything that can stand out in terms of the fantastic aspects, I can say that it’s a very informative book and you finish a bit wiser than you were when you started reading it, which is great. The Sword and the Dagger by Robert Cochran || 3/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ || REVIEW HERE

This book is my favorite book of the month, no doubt, WHAT AN EPIC BOOKS. It’s so hard to explain, I think I can’t do it justice, but it’s really INCREDIBLE and I couldn’t recommend it enough.
The book focuses on the story of a pair of twins that are created through alchemy in order to master the doctrine that will lead its creators to the domination and the absolute change of the world as we know. While one of them dominates the mathematics the other one is really all about language at extraordinary levels, almost like superpowers. We follow their stories from birth to the age of 30, so it is wonderful to be able to accompany them in their lives and know them so deeply. They were separated at birth but then managed to reconnect using a telepathic ability that they have managed to dominate due to the fact that they have been created to be actually together.
It’s a really unique journey, it’s a bit complicated to understand at first because it handles a rather complex vocabulary and some chapters jump in time, but then you can’t stop reading, it’s such an addictive book! I also forgot to mention the best part, but this book also plays with time travel and temporal lines, which is totally my jam.
You have to give this book an opportunity, it’s one of the most original and brilliant things I’ve read. And I love the characters, they’re ruthless and brutally real. Expected Publication: May 7th, 2019

Middlegame by Seanan McGuire || 4.5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 💫 || REVIEW HERE

I enjoyed the book and it was very easy to read because it follows a lot the romantic relationship between the characters so it’s like a romantic contemporary reading. I don’t have my review of this book yet, because, you know, I’m a bit behind with that but I’ll be writing and uploading it in the month of May so that you know all my thoughts about it. The book is about a girl, Amber, who’s an informatic genius and decides to create a website because she’s tired of the poor sexual education of her school so she wants to help in some way all those who have questions and doubts, but no one to speak about, so everything starts with an idea and ends up becoming something bigger where many and many guys send their questions to this page called “Ask Me Anything”. Meanwhile, we also have the Dean’s POV, who’s the other coding genius of the school, who will help Amber in all the problems in which she got involved, while they start a love story. But in addition to this, it has a dark side, as well, as Amber has to live with the weight of a secret that still hurts her.
The book is good, especially in regard to sex education, I think it’s taken in a very serious way but also is current and real, I really like that, and I applaud that a YA book talk about the subject, I think it’s very necessary and I respect that, it reminds me of “Sex Education” I mean, the TV series, so if you like that maybe it’s something you want to read. TW for sexual abuse, though.
I like it a lot also as the parents of the main character are always present, we need more of that as well
But on the other hand, I didn’t like the romance, but I have a lot to say about it, so I’ll do it in my review very soon. Expected publication: May 7th, 2019

🌊 Challenge || The Lowest Rated Book 🐟

32871394

I read this book for a challenge I’m doing that is all about reading The Lowest & The Highest Rated Books On My TBR, this time I read one of the lowest and now I understand why.
I DIDN’T LIKE IT, AT ALL. I haven’t read anything that makes me feel so angry like this book. I don’t like to say that I hate a book because I don’t want to be unrespectful, but I think I hate this one lol.
I didn’t have a good relationship with the main character, she’s very complicated and has a vision of life completely different from mine. I don’t have to like the character to like the book, of course, but at least I hope it’s interesting or stands out for something more than being creepy, you know? I didn’t expect the number of disgusting and out of place scenes, much less the animal abuse.
I respect those who liked the book, really, but I haven’t understood the supposed “symbolism” behind, and I don’t care.

 🔥 So Many Londons 👏🏻

I really liked this book, so the first thing I should do is to thank everyone who recommended it to me, non-stopping, cause it was really worth it.
I’ve had a great time with it, my favorite thing is undoubtedly the world building, is one of the best I’ve read about, I’m so amazed by each of the different worlds.
I must mention that at first, it was difficult for me to get into it, maybe because I came from reading a very horrendous book and I was with a strange humor lol, but after, I do not know, a 40% I think things start to get really interesting and I get hooked, from there I couldn’t stop reading. I LOVE Lila!, I already know she’ll be one of those characters that I’ll love forever.
I don’t know if you feel the same but it reminds me a bit of Six of Crows, I think it has a similar vibe, of mystery and darkness but at the same time captivating and with complex characters, I love it.
The magic system is really good, I love the fact that magic is something that has life and must be respected and played a little with human ambitions and as far as one is able to reach for power, I think it’s very smart.
I’ll talk, of course, a lot more about the book in my full review that will also be on the blog very soon in the month of May, thanks for the patience, I haven’t had time to write and it’s killing me, because I hate to fall behind with my reviews, but I’ll do my best effort to return to normal. I loved the book and I’m excited to continue with the next one because that ending was SO good.

    • Thank you SO much, Ashley!! It really has a great cover, right?. Oh, I hope you love it as much as I did or even more Middlegame, once you read it, it’s an incredible book 😍

  1. Hi Sofi,
I’m really happy for you reaching 3000 subscribers! That’s fantastic!
I’m so glad you liked “A Darker Shade of Magic”!!!
I also enjoyed the world building and the fact that magic was seen as a power with its own life and also the fact that it was connected to blood, It’s really original.
I don’t particulary like Lila, I find her a little annoying. But i love Kell 😍 and I was so worried throughout the whole book because I didn’t want him to get hurt or to continue doing dangerous things without knowing their immense power.
I also think that the characters are well described and I was orrified by the two twins ruling the Withe London, I don’t remember the names at the momento, the girl is called Astrid, but her brother I really don’t remember. Anyway they were really detestable and cruel.
I also don’t like Kell’s stepbrother, I don’t know why, but he doesn’t appeal to me.
I also suggest you, if you haven’t read it yet, another book by V.E. Schwab: “This savage Song”. i loved it and I’m currently waiting for the second volume to be released in Italy, but it’s taking so much time! I’m worrie that the serie will be interrupted. But it’s great! It’s about a city populated by monsters. These are divided into three species: Corsai, malchai and Sunai. The monsters are originated by crimes, so everytime a crime is committed a new monster is born. The protagonists are August, a Sunsi who doesn’t want to be a monster and katie, the daughter of one of the rulers of the city.

Actually, I have This Savage Song on my TBR! and I can’t wait to read it, I think it sounds like the most original thing ever, and that’s great!!!. Now that I know you’ve enjoyed it, I’m even more excited about it.
Thank you so much for the recommendation, honey 💞

I’m glad we share thoughts about Middlegame, I think it’s an incredibly smart book, but I get what you mean, I feel it can be hard to get through at times, especially because it handles a somewhat complex vocabulary and can be a little slow but I think it’s worth it, without hesitation. I would love to re-read it someday 😊

  4. Reading 5 books a month isn’t so bad… it means reading one book a week and I read about the same… when I tell this to colleagues (or they see me after the weekend with another book again) I only get admiring looks :-). My fav read of April is definitely The Passengers by John Marrs. It’s sooooo recommended! Very very twisty 🙂
