ย ๐ย Hi guys, I hope you’re having a beautiful day, full of amazing spooky readings! โค๏ธ First of all, HAPPY HALLOWEEN! ๐ It’s not a thing where I live, but I don’t care lol, I personally love it, I always been such a big fan of horror things, I remember seeing spooky and horror movies and videos since ever, they’re just my jam, so here I am today celebrating it with you and sharing a moment that I hope is fun for you as much as it’s for me.ย ๐ฅฐ
I’ve decided to come on this special day with this Halloween Creatures Book Tagย ๐๐ป that has a lot of fun prompts to answer and so maybe you can find new recommendations, and it’s also always entertaining to know your opinions about each of my answers so don’t hesitate to leave your comment below, it always makes me SO happy. I found this book tag on the Paperbacks and Planners blog, Robin‘s wonderful book blog, and I think looks amazing, I also loved her answers so check it out too!ย ๐
I hope you enjoy it, I want to thank you in advance for being here with me today sharing another post and for taking the time to comment and read, it means a lot to me, so without further ado, let’s start with this creepy & fun book tag.ย ๐ย
ย ๐ย WITCH โ a magical character or bookย ๐ย
The Bone Witch (The Bone Witch #1) by Rin Chupeco It’s a very magical book, with obviously equally magical characters because they’re witches, it’s very entertaining I really love it, and I cannot believe that I haven’t read the rest of the series yet, but I think it will be one of my “to do” for 2021! LOVE this book, a complex magical system & an incredible morally gray main character
ย ๐ย WEREWOLF โ the perfect book to read at nightย ๐ย
Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia is definitely the perfect book to read at night since its incredible and creepy atmosphere catches you completely and makes you feel that you’re there walking through those disturbing places, it’s a very unique book for sure, you never know which way will go. I loved reading it, it was quite an experience, one of the rarest books I’ve read in my life, but in the best possible way. A slow-paced book in the best gothic style perfect for when you want a horror plot
ย ๐ย FRANKENSTEIN โ a book that truly shocked youย ๐
Emma in the Night by Wendy Walker was undoubtedly a book that left me shocked at the end and I dare to say it’s one of the best mystery books I’ve read, the author is simply brilliant at telling the plot with jumps in time that keep you on the edge of your seat. I don’t think this is a book for sensitive readers because its content can be slightly shocking, but I highly recommend it if you want to be surprised in the most disturbing ways.
ย ๐ย THE DEVIL โ a dark, evil characterย ๐
Rules for Vanishing by Kate Alice Marshall is the first one that comes to mind right now because I think it has a lot of these kinds of characters: dark and evil creatures within its plot. I think that many books have the factor of having a dark character as it contributes a lot to the plot, but in this case, it’s a much more powerful entity, so I think it’s the right choice, also I LOVE this book is super unique and dark. A book with an entertaining concept, incredible formats & unexpected twists in each chapter.
ย ๐ย GRIM REAPER โ a character that never should have diedย ๐
Starsight (Skyward #2) by Brandon Sanderson ย ๐ฅบย ๐ฅบย ๐ฅบย ๐ฅบย
ย ๐ย ZOMBIE โ a book that made you โhungryโ for moreย ๐
Burn Our Bodies Down by Rory Power definitely left me wanting more and more because I just LOVED it!!!! This book is so unique, and rich in content, but above all the concept is incredible and the characters are super complex, what a masterpiece. Obviously, I would love to know what will happen now with the main character after all that she has lived, and with that bittersweet ending, it would be incredible to continue reading about her. It’s a wonderful, dark, and super strange book with unexpected twists and twisted characters, it’s not for everyone but personally, it was very my style.
ย ๐ย GARGOYLE โ a character that you would protect at all costย ๐
Black Girl Unlimited by Echo Brown. I feel privileged to have been able to read this book, it has touched my heart and it has become a fave, the author tells the story of a girl named after her that’s why we know that it’s a bit of an autobiography, but it’s also a book that contains magical realism so it’s also very unique in fiction. It’s an incredible book, I have no words to describe how beautiful and heartbreaking it is, I loved it and would always protect Echo Brown.
ย ๐ย VAMPIRE โ a book that sucked the life out of youย ๐
It by Stephen King. I take this prompt as that kind of book that you feel exhausted after finishing reading it, as if you can’t take it anymore and you just want to rest lol. This book without a doubt made me feel tired in some way, it’s a very long and dense book to read and even when I struggled a bit in some parts, don’t get me wrong, it’s a great story, but I think this is one of those rare cases where I prefer the movie to the book, for some reason it resonates more with me and it worked well for me. Stephen King is an AMAZING writer, I really admire him but his books take me a while to read.
ย ๐ย GHOST โ a book that still haunts youย ๐
The Grace Year by Kim Liggett is definitely one of those books that I still go back to in my mind, I think it’s because its plot is super disturbing and hard to read, but also because it’s AMAZING and I absolutely love it so, due to the huge emotional weight has left a mark on me, and now I think about it and that heartbreaking ending. it shows the union of women and the rise of something new and an unshakable hope, I simply think about it and want to cry because It’s so moving, I really can’t recommend it enough.
ย ๐ย DEMON โ a book that really scared youย ๐
sadly I don’t have an answer for this one because I don’t usually get scared a lot with books or at least I haven’t found that book that really scares me yet.
ย ๐ย SKELETON โ a character you have a bone to pick withย ๐
The Hating Game by Sally Thorne. I think you’ve had enough of seeing me hating this book, so I won’t lol, but I chose it this time because I can’t stand Lucy, I think it’s one of the worst main characters ever.
ย ๐ย MUMMY โ a book you would preserve throughout timeย ๐
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid is a book that I’ll always remember with much love, and no doubt, if you have read it, you’ll understand. I think this is one of those books where most of us who have read it can agree that it will last over time and will always be very iconic and extraordinary. It’s a book that feels so real when you read it, it will surely only become more and more loved over the years.
ย ๐ย CREEPY DOLL โ a cover too scary to look atย ๐
How do you NOT get scared???? It is truly something I can’t understand. Everything freaks me out ๐๐ And I love The Hating Game!! Recently I’ve seen so many people that don’t like that book and especially not Lucy ๐ฌ

I love all your answers to this tag! ๐ All these books look so spooky, and Iโve definitely found a few to add to my TBR. One of my favorite spooky books is City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab. Itโs middle grade so it isnโt very scary, but I highly recommend it if you havenโt read it yet. Fantastic post!โค๏ธ
