Hi guys, I hope you’re having a beautiful day, today I bring you my Wrap Up of the month of January, where I’ll tell you all about my reading of the month. I’m super excited to start a new year on the blog, I feel that things are going super good and are very positive, with the blog itself, but also with the community that’s made of all of you: wonderful people that always inspire me and support me. Simply HAPPY to continue another year sharing what I love with you and you with me, so I wanted to start this new year thanking you, and wishing you the best on this year with your new projects and with your lives in general 💕

January Statistics

This year I want to do some statistics every month, being a bit more specific about my readings, I think it could be fun. But if this is something that doesn’t interest you like that much, let me know below

💫 Books Read: I’ve read a total of 5 books this month, all of them part of my January TBR and I’m in the middle of another one, which I’ll surely be ending for next month.
💫 Total Pages: 1681
💫 Authors Gender: All the books that I’ve read this month are by Female authors
💫 Book Genres: All of them YA : Fantasy, Mystery & Romance
💫 Releases: 3 of the books I’ve read are ARCs of 2019, 1 is from 2017 and the other from 2016

General Thoughts

I LOVED 2 of these books, 2 of them were sadly disappointments, while another was a pleasant surprise!, I would say that it was a fairly average month in terms of my readings, but those that I’ve really enjoyed are INCREDIBLE, so that’s great, besides, I’m happy because I been able to read all the ARCs that I’ve proposed myself for this month, until yesterday I only had 1 book in my Netgalley Shelf, which is crazy, right now I have 2, but it’s still amazing, I’m glad to be up to date with my ARCs. So, without further ado, Let’s Start!, I’m super excited to talk a little about everything I’ve read this month

🔑 A Month Full of ARCs 🚪

I didn’t expect to love this book as much as I did, I can say with certainty that it’s one of my favorites of this series so far, and it makes me feel even more excited to continue with the saga. I feel that the world where our main character is going in this book, is one of the most original and well built that I’ve read, is very rich in content and I feel that, despite being a completely fantastic place, it felts very real for the fact of being a world that’s governed by so many rules.
I also love Lundy and her family story was heartbreaking and amazing, I respect her a lot for the decisions she has had to make and now I need more books where she appears in!!. Published: January 8th 2019

In an Absent Dream (Wayward Children #4) by Seanan McGuire (4.5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) REVIEW HERE

Thinking in hindsight, I really think that this book wasn’t for me and it’s a shame because I was expecting a lot of it, especially since its synopsis is very captivating and mysterious, it’s very well done, but the book itself has a lot of tropes that I’m a bit boring to read in mystery, also the characters are very obnoxious, honestly I didn’t like any of them. And despite all this, and that I think the plot is unoriginal as well, I must say that I LOVED the ending, has a very good plot twist and is built to surprise, so it’s a shame that not all the book has been like that. Expected Publication: February 5th 2019

We Told Six Lies by Victoria Scott (2.7/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️) REVIEW HERE

39986808

I enjoyed this book a lot, and despite being classified as a mystery, I would say that it’s more a contemporary focused on a mental illness and is done in a brilliant way.
It’s very difficult to talk about it because I think the most important and outstanding things are spoilers, so I hope you decide to read it because I recommend it a lot. I can tell that it’s very dark and deep, also is very heartbreaking and about all, extremely addictive! You’ll never know what’s real and what’s not and the outcome is very hard but real. I really liked it and I’m happy because is one of my most anticipated of the year. Expected Publication: February 5th 2019

A Danger to Herself and Others by Alyssa B. Sheinmel (4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) REVIEW HERE

🍭 Sweet World ☁️

This book is the third in the Wayward Children saga. and although I always enjoy the author writing style, this time the world that we follow in this book wasn’t for me, I didn’t like it much, I can see that it’s extremely original and some landscapes are very beautiful, but it wasn’t from my favorites. The characters are involved in a quest and with this type of situation I usually get bored or easily distracted, but it’s totally personal. On the other hand, it was nice to see characters that I missed once more, and the end was adorable

Beneath the Sugar Sky (Wayward Children #3) by Seanan McGuire (3.5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) REVIEW HERE

🔥 An Amazing Sequel ⚔️

OMG, THIS BOOK! I loved it! It’s so hard to talk about a book that you love, I feel that I’ll not make it justice. I feel that this book is much more informative, politically and also as regards the world in general, than the first one and OH GOD, there are some twists that are to die for. It’s dark, deep, heartbreaking and absolutely beautiful, It’s so cruel as well, I cry 2 times with it, which is a lot lol. The characters are my favorite thing and seeing them grow up and face their fear was incredible, I feel them very close to my heart and the ending was like WOW, I loved it and I can’t wait to read more about my babies, Laia and Elias

A Torch Against the Night (An Ember in the Ashes #2) by Sabaa Tahir (4.5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) REVIEW HERE

I’m currently in the middle of my re-reading of this beautiful book, as I remembered, it’s a bit slow at the beginning but I’m enjoying it, I love the characters and I hope to finish it soon, even when life gets in the middle lol

  1. Looks like you had a great month! I can’t wait to read In An Absent Dream (hopefully next month if I can squeeze it in) and I really have to read the Ember In The Ashes series this year… I hope you will keep enjoying your Six Of Crows reread!

  2. Great reading month! I read five books, which i think is amazing because i rarely read three each month last year. And I believe my biggest accomplishment was finishing Crooked Kingdom haha

      • Yup, you’re right! And I’m definitely reading more than last year, so I’m super happy about it. I hope this motivation sticks with me! I loved CK but unfortunately I got attacked by the slump so I was really lazy about picking it up again every time I put it down. I had been reading it since September )): But I read the last 200 pages or so in a couple of days and those were the best! I hope you love it!
