Catching Up!: Least-Favorite Books of 2021 🌪

🌪 Hi guys! I hope you’re having a wonderful day, safe and surrounded by the best reading.❤️ Today I wanted to start catching up a bit with posts that I didn’t get to do last year, but that I still think are fun to discuss and share with you, and to kick off these posts, I want to start with “my least-favorite books” as I think it was a post I couldn’t skip, and then I‘ll as well do a post dedicated to my favorite books of last year as well, of course. 🙌🏻

My least favorite and favorite books of the year posts are usually my favorite posts not only to make but also of my favorite posts to see on other blogs, so I hope you like it too, and share in the excitement, even though I’m a little late this time. For this opportunity I’ve chosen five books, we’ll talk a little bit about them and I’ll give you their respective ratings, as well as each link to go to my review as well as Goodreads in case you want to read more of them or add them to your own TBR. 🌟 🌟 🌟

I always like to clarify before I start that these are just my opinions and it’s not the absolute truth of all things, I know we all have different tastes and preferences when it comes to reading and that’s perfect and super respectable so with that in mind, I’d love to know what you think about each book below and if you’ve read it what was your experience with it! 😊

I’ve ordered the books so that, in this opportunity, will be from the one I liked the most to the one I liked the least, of course within the “least favorite” in this case, but it’s also something I want to do with my favorites since I think it makes it more dynamic and fun  👏🏻 (so, in that case, it would be a scale from the one I like the least, to the one I like the most, I hope this makes sense lol). SO SO HAPPY to be back!! 😭 everything feels so organic, really when you do something you love it feels like you never left, you know? and I love being able to share with you all! 🥰 So without further ado, and because I promised I would be a little briefer with my introductions 😅…. LET’S GET STARTED! 🌪

August Wrap Up & September TBR | Some Witchy Books, Unexpected Ratings, Polarized Reading & Taking a few Weeks Off 🌺

🌺 Hi, guys! I hope you’re having a wonderful day filled with the best readings & obviously, I hope you all had a beautiful past month! Today I’ve returned with one of my favorite posts to share with you my Wrap Up of the month, where I tell you all about what I’ve read during the month of August, plus: What I’m going to read in the month of September!. I think I repeat this every month, so I’m sorry, but OMG, I can’t believe we’re already so close to the end of 2021! it’s crazy! 😲 I hope from the bottom of my heart that you’re all safe and healthy, and have been able to get vaccinated if you wanted to, personally I’ve already had the first dose, so I’m more relaxed now, I’m waiting to be called for the second and luckily I haven’t had any symptoms or anything, so a very good experience. In other news, the month of August has been super quiet for me in my personal life, honestly nothing super amazing has happened but luckily, I did have been feeling very well physically, I’ve returned to be more active and walk which I haven’t done for a while, and that’s very good for me. 🏃🏻‍♀️🌟 I also want to thank everyone deeply because it has been a very good month for the blog and I’ve been seeing a much more active flow of new people joining the family and that makes me very happy and I’m honestly flattered that you subscribe to the blog and check my posts, I love this space and all the wonderful people I’ve met through it. 🥺💕

I’ve embarked this month on a new challenge in terms of reading, where I’ll be reading some favorite books from other book bloggers, which I’m very excited about, and I’ve already made some progress on that TBR specifically so I’m super happy, anyway I’ll share more about it in another post. 👏🏻👏🏻 I’m looking forward to creating weekly posts where I keep you updated with this challenge maybe, or updating it as well, something will come up, but I promise to keep you posted on all of that. In terms of reading in general, you know I’ve already shared with you that this year has been very busy for me, so I haven’t had as much time as I’d like to read as such so I’ve taken this stance of reading what I can, and being patient with myself, and celebrating every little victory, you know? Still with this mentality I managed to read a bit more than I had planned so YAY! 🎉 I’d say it was a very successful month in terms of reading. 😄
As for the quality of these readings, it’s been a month of highs and lows,
I have some books that really impressed me, some genres that I’m not usually used to reading that I loved, and others that I expected a lot from and really disappointed me, so there’s a little bit of everything here to talk about and analyze today. We have a bit of romance, a bit of sci-fi, mystery and above all a lot of magic! Would I really be myself if I didn’t read stuff about witches?…it’s literally all I’ve been reading this year 😅.

‼️ Another thing I want to share with you before starting with the post, is that I’ll be taking 2 weeks off in September where I won’t be uploading anything to the blog, I might read a little but I don’t really promise anything, you’ll see that my TBR for the month is very general because I don’t even know how much I’ll actually read, but well, this is something I do every year together with my boyfriend and we take the opportunity to relax, visit our families and really be with each other, so maybe during those two weeks reading won’t be exactly my priority, and that’s perfectly fine. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF & TAKE BREAKS is SO important for your mental health! ❤️❤️
Still, I’ll be back with my reading updates for you, and obviously I’ll share a bit of those books that could be in my stack.

Now without further ado, thank you for being there on the other side supporting me, I LOVE YOU!!! 🥰 I have the best readers and this is by far the best community, so super honored to belong & I hope you obviously enjoy today’s post, and let me know all your thoughts in the comments. Now yes, LET’S GET STARTED! 🌺

One of the most twisty, surprising, engaging page-turner YAs you’ll read this year—We Were Liars meets Black Mirror, with a dash of Studio Ghibli.

Cee has been trapped on an abandoned island for three years without any recollection of how she arrived, or memories from her life prior. All she knows is that somewhere out there, beyond the horizon, she has a sister named Kay, and it’s up to Cee to cross the ocean and find her.

In a world apart, 16-year-old STEM prodigy Kasey Mizuhara lives in an eco-city built for people who protected the planet―and now need protecting from it. With natural disasters on the rise due to climate change, eco-cities provide clean air, water, and shelter. Their residents, in exchange, must spend at least a third of their time in stasis pods, conducting business virtually whenever possible to reduce their environmental footprint. While Kasey, an introvert and loner, doesn’t mind the lifestyle, her sister Celia hated it. Popular and lovable, Celia much preferred the outside world. But no one could have predicted that Celia would take a boat out to sea, never to return.

Now it’s been three months since Celia’s disappearance, and Kasey has given up hope. Logic says that her sister must be dead. But nevertheless, she decides to retrace Celia’s last steps. Where they’ll lead her, she does not know. Her sister was full of secrets. But Kasey has a secret of her own.

July Wrap Up & August TBR | Leaving my Reading Slump Behind, Plus: Exciting & Ambitious Reading Plan (Secret TBR Announcement!) ❄️

❄️ Hi, guys! I hope you’re having a wonderful day filled with the best readings & obviously, I hope you all had a beautiful past month!❤️ Today I’ve returned with one of my favorite posts to share with you my Wrap Up of the month, where I tell you all about what I’ve read during the month of July, plus: What I’m going to read in the month of August!. I can’t believe it’s August already, guys! What’s going on? This 2021 is going by too fast, really, but well, we’ll have to take advantage of every moment then and, above all, give it our all with our readings… WE GOT THIS! 💪🏻 This is my first year since I started reading that I’m reading such a small amount of books, so in some way, it’s hard for me because I would love to read more. Still, on the other hand, I understand I’m prioritizing many other things, especially myself, you know? I’m choosing not to put unnecessary pressure on myself, and that also makes me feel proud and is something I recommend, without a doubt, so in summary, I’m okay reading little this year; the important thing is that I’ve found amazing readings so far, high-quality readings I sincerely appreciate, and I hope that continues to be so!!! 😍
Before I start, I wanted to thank you very much for all the love and support; I told you that I was going through a difficult situation, I wasn’t feeling well, and I thank you deeply for the concern and the beautiful words you’ve had for me,
thank you SO much; you’ll always have an important place in my heart as my wonderful bookish family. 🥺 I feel much more positive about this month, and I know that everything will be more than fine not only for me but for you too. 🥰

Today’s post is going to be a little bit different than usual, this time I’ve chosen not to show you entirely my whole plan for this month, as I’ll be doing another post about it, which I’ll tell you a little bit more about at the end of this post, I hope you’re as excited as I am because this will involve you in some way. I think that’s super fun; I can’t wait. 🙌🏻 🙌🏻 I wanted to do something different, too, because I just came off a reading slump, and we all know they’re the worst, so I wanted to keep myself motivated to continue my reading enthusiasm, which has been coming back quite a bit during the month of July and that’s definitely the best news! 🌟
So, this month I’ve read 3 whole books, almost 4; I would say I’m actually reading something right now, I’m about to finish it, though, but I’ll still be counting it for this mont
☺️; I hope that’s not cheating 😅. Anyway, I’ll be telling you more about it next. I’ve been re-reading, which I think is the best remedy for when you feel slumpy; I highly recommend it; it always works wonders with me, so obviously this time it worked too, and I’m back to that state I love so much when I’m really excited to pick up a book and read it, you know? I’ve also been reading new releases this past month, which I’m excited to tell you about, and another book I finished in July as well, and although I already share with you my thoughts, we’ll also go over it again in this post.

I hope you’re super comfortable sitting with your favorite drink and, of course, that you enjoy the post that I made with lots of love as always. As I mentioned before, I’ll be telling you a bit of what I’ve read in the month of July. Although I do plan to share some of my “possible reads,” I choose this time to mostly keep the little secret of what I’ll be reading in its entirety but still stay tuned because I’ll be announcing it with more details at the end of this post. 😊 Thank you so much for always being there for me, and without further ado, LET’S GET STARTED! ❄️
