Hi, there, my beautiful literary family! I hope youβre having an amazing day & happy new year to all!ππ₯ I hope you are starting the year with the best vibes and intentions for 2024, from my heart I wish only the best for you, that you fulfill all your goals, but above all, that you enjoy the journey and live beautiful experiences during this year.β€οΈ Also, of course, as proud bookworms that we all are, I hope we can all meet our reading goals, but always remember to prioritize quality over quantity, you guys, this is not a competition between us but an adventure to share and enjoy.β¨ I love you, and thanks for being there for me always, very excited for the blog in this new year!π
Of course, this year I want to get a little more organized in terms of posting here on the blog π€©, I have recently returned, and I feel that in these two months, I have been warming up for what is coming, you know? I think it’s serving me as a practice to get back to the rhythm I had in the past. I don’t expect to be as active as I was before the break, but I want to be at least more organized in this aspect to be able to give the best of me and bring you more content. I will be detailing a little more in a new post where I will tell you more about my goals for 2024. ππ»ππ»ππ»
So in today’s post, I’m excited to bring you my TBR for the month! It’s the first of a whole new year so it’s exciting, also, honey, I want to combine it with my wrap-up from last month since there wasn’t much movement in my reading, so I don’t think it’s worth doing a whole separate post for it.
So for January, I’m taking part in a reading challenge created by booksare42, which seems to me the perfect challenge to start a new year, plus, I think it’s a great idea that could keep me motivated to read some more!!π₯ Obviously, I recommend you guys to take a look at her blog it’s wonderful, and to be part of this challenge too, it will be fun to see everyone’s choices! π₯°
So, without further ado, let’s get started with today’s post!π Expect to see some books from the previous TBR that I didn’t get to read of course, but I’ll also be starting a new duology, continuing a series I’m loving, and much more! LET’S GET STARTED!π
A Book Starting with C or P & First Book in a Series
Pivot Point (Pivot Point #1) by Kasie West
Knowing the outcome doesnβt always make a choice easier . . .
Addison Colemanβs life is one big βWhat if?β As a Searcher, whenever Addie is faced with a choice, she can look into the future and see both outcomes. Itβs the ultimate insurance plan against disaster. Or so she thought. When Addieβs parents ambush her with the news of their divorce, she has to pick who she wants to live withβher father, who is leaving the paranormal compound to live among the βNorms,β or her mother, who is staying in the life Addie has always known. Addie loves her life just as it is, so her answer should be easy. One Search six weeks into the future proves itβs not.
In one potential future, Addie is adjusting to life outside the Compound as the new girl in a Norm high school where she meets Trevor, a cute, sensitive artist who understands her. In the other path, Addie is being pursued by the hottest guy in schoolβbut she never wanted to be a quarterbackβs girlfriend. When Addieβs father is asked to consult on a murder in the Compound, sheβs unwittingly drawn into a dangerous game that threatens everything she holds dear. With love and loss in both lives, it all comes down to which reality sheβs willing to live through . . . and who she canβt live without.

A Book with Plants on the Cover
A House with Good Bones by T. Kingfisher
A haunting Southern Gothic from an award-winning master of suspense, A House With Good Bones explores the dark, twisted roots lurking just beneath the veneer of a perfect home and family.
“Mom seems off.”
Her brother’s words echo in Sam Montgomery’s ear as she turns onto the quiet North Carolina street where their mother lives alone.
She brushes the thought away as she climbs the front steps. Sam’s excited for this rare extended visit, and looking forward to nights with just the two of them, drinking boxed wine, watching murder mystery shows, and guessing who the killer is long before the characters figure it out.
But stepping inside, she quickly realizes home isnβt what it used to be. Gone is the warm, cluttered charm her mom is known for; now the walls are painted a sterile white. Her mom jumps at the smallest noises and looks over her shoulder even when sheβs the only person in the room. And when Sam steps out back to clear her head, she finds a jar of teeth hidden beneath the magazine-worthy rose bushes, and vultures are circling the garden from above.
To find out whatβs got her mom so frightened in her own home, Sam will go digging for the truth. But some secrets are better left buried.

Our Wives Under the Sea by Julia Armfield
This was one of those strange reads that you don’t quite know what’s going on most of the time, but you can’t stop reading it.
I loved the somber tone as I think it accompanies the story brilliantly, and also the author’s pen makes it extremely intriguing to move forward within a plot that is full of intrigue, many more questions than answers, that’s for sure.
I quite enjoyed this book, I don’t think it’s a book for everyone but I think if you like this kind of horror genre almost abstract, atmospheric, that plays all the time with your mind while you read it then this is one you can’t miss.
Also a slight warning here, as I think the darkness of the book is mostly driven by the exploration of grief and depression.
It is a book that really leaves you thinking, plus the exploration of the mysteries of the ocean is always something that leaves me with a particular feeling that comes from the fear of the unknown and unexplorable.
It’s a great book and a new author for me so I’m super glad I read it, my review will be here on the blog soon!

Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass #2) by Sarah J. Maas
Ok, all of you who told me that the second book was even better, you were right! I loved this sequel, it is very well told and explores much more not only the characters as such and their pasts, giving us great revelations I must say, but we also explore much more the magic part and the world in general, that’s what I enjoyed the most.
I know that maybe it’s not what all readers would like, since I understand that in this book the plot takes a pretty drastic turn, but personally, I liked it a lot and I want to continue exploring more of everything this story has to offer.
In general, I feel that the addictive vibe of the genre and even more of the books that came out during the time in which this one was published, many will understand what I mean.
Besides serving up great battle scenes, and dramatic interactions between the characters something that I loved was the twists and turns, I still can’t overcome some of the things that have happened, so I’m on the edge of my seat very excited to see where it will take us with the third book.
Of course, we’ll be talking more about it in depth in my full review soon!

I’m reading The Day of Fallen Night that is a pretty big book that might take half of the month to read! I’ll read other books simultaneously but haven’t decided which one yet.

Just finished first 100 pages and unlike Priory of the Orange Tree this started a little slow and even though I might know the end because of Priory Of The Orange Tree, I still can’t say where it’s going. One thing I’m sure, Samantha Shannon is amazing writer. I will read whatever she writes.
